Join Somerset Wildlife Trust at their Blackdown’s reserve team at Quants Wood for some reserve maintenance!

About the event:
Suitable for those between the ages of 15 and 24 years old, come and join Somerset Wildlife Trust for a day of management and help them to conserve this amazing reserve for years to come!
Quants Wood is a wildlife-rich mosaic of woodland, grassland and heathland on a steep north facing slope of the Blackdown Hills. An essential part of its maintenance is cutting material to encourage the wildflowers on the woodland rides and cutting the bracken on the heathy area to prevent it outcompeting and shading out the other heathland plants, such as heather and bilberry.
There will always be a member of staff or highly trained volunteer and first aider on site.
