Time: 10:00 - 12:30
Location: Woodland Trust Barrow Bridge Car Park, Barrow Bridge Road Bolton BL1 7NH
Further Information: Please note that all young person attendees must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Event Information:
Join The Woodland Trust North in helping clear rhododendron, an invasive plant that negatively affects our woodlands. Two staff members will guide the attendees as they work together to remove the plant from key areas on site.
This event is part of a three-month series of events. The sessions aim to give young people experience in conservation tasks and develop their green skills. All young people need to be accompanied by a supervising parent or legal guardian for this series of events.
We are running these sessions to recruit young volunteers for the Woodland Trust Smithills Estate. Once registered as a volunteer, young people can attend regular volunteering sessions without their accompanying legal guardian.
Our Young Volunteers will carry out a variety of conservation tasks on the last Sunday of each month through 2025. The Young Volunteer group will meet and work as a team whilst supervised by Smithills Estate staff members. We are keen to welcome more people to the team to build new skills, make friends and gain experience that makes your CV stand out.
