Introducing the The People, Planet, Picnic (or “PPPicnic”)
This is The Resilience Project’s fresh take on the ‘Climate Cafe’ model, designed to build connection, support, and meaningful discussions—while enjoying great food in a relaxed setting. It’s all about decompression, community-building, and exploring how we can navigate the climate and nature crises together.
What is People, Planet, Picnic?
Climate change and difficult emotions can both be hard to talk about. That’s why, in recent years, many organizations have held ‘Climate Cafes’ — safe spaces to unpack emotions that can come up naturally from living through a Climate Crisis.
While Climate Cafes can be amazing, we recognise additional needs from our youth network of community-building and joy. That’s why The Resilience Project has developed People, Planet, Picnic, a variation on the ‘Climate Cafe’ model, but with a focus on community building, decompression and sustenance.
Who can organise a People, Planet, Picnic?
People, Planet, Picnics are organised by youth changemakers around the world who participate in our Resilience Circles.
When will the People, Planet Picnics take place?
This year, most People, Planet, Picnics will take place 18th November - 1st December, so in the aftermath of COP29, when climate emotions can be particularly intense.
