Opportunity: Join our Youth Advisory Group

Do you want to do something big for the planet’s future?
Do you want to step inside the running on an environmental charity, and gain knowledge and transferable skills in governance and decision-making?
Do you want to be a voice for young people as we face the challenge of climate change?

We are looking for young people aged 15-25 to join our Youth Advisory Board.

Our founder Amy Bray started our charity, Another Way, when she was 16 years old. We are proud to remain a youth led charity, and one of our main goals is supporting young people to take positive action for the planet. So far, this has involved actions of all shapes and sizes – from inspiring family members to ditch plastic, to hosting podcasts that challenge politicians, to helping organise a Youth Climate Summit and giving talks in their local communities. We also started the first ever digital community for young changemakers – this Power of 10 App – which has since expanded to include a film, a festival, and even a residential. On top of this, we advocate to educators and those in government to make sure that every student has access to a climate education.

As a member of our Youth Advisory Group, you will…

  • Be part of the decision-making processes of our organisation, to ensure that our youth climate action and education programmes are co-created with and for young people.

  • Hear updates from our CEO and Director of Youth Programmes, and then discuss your ideas on our current operations and activities: whether that’s thoughts on how we can make our Power of 10 Festivals more fun and engaging, or developing new ideas for entertaining climate activities that we can take to big events across the country.

  • You will also review our strategies concerning our Power of 10 app, outreach and equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI), to ensure that youth voice is considered at all levels of our work.

  • Attend quarterly meetings and have the opportunity to join us at in-person climate change action events around the UK.

In return…

  • You will be paired with a mentor from the Another Way staff team or board, who will help you to look towards your future green career.

  • You will be paid £15 per hour.

  • You will meet a community of like-minded young changemakers.

  • You will make a real difference for the planet!

We are looking forward to hearing from you – full details can be found below.

Please note: this opportunity is only available to young people based in the UK, and who have the right to work in the UK

Be sure to apply by midnight on February 27th!
