How-to Guide: Microplastics Game

We love this game to help illustrate the plastics problem.

What

The biomagnification game is great to play with groups of children of all ages. It involves illustrating how plastics build up in a marine food chain by getting people to play different animals in a game of tag. Get ready for lots of excitement!

Why

There are more microplastics in the oceans than stars in the Milky Way. Microplastics form when ocean plastics break down into tiny pieces. They can work their way up the food chain to harm top marine predators. This is called biomagnification but can be a complicated process to explain. This game makes learning about biomagnification easy and fun for everyone!
