How-To Guide: Albatross Art- A Recycled Plastic Workshop

What

A workshop to make a life-size albatross out of old newspapers, plastic-free glue and bits of plastic.

It is a great interactive activity to run with schools to showcase marine biology, upcycling, sustainable alternatives and the effects of plastic pollution.

The finished products make great art installations in schools and community halls.

Why

Our overconsumption of plastic is a major problem in today’s society and can have devastating impacts on our marine habitats.
This workshop will showcase these problems, drawing attention in particular to Albatrosses and helping students to rethink their plastic consumption.
