About the event

This workshop is an introduction to Active Hope - a resilience and well-being practice designed to help us find and offer our best response to the crises unfolding in our world. It shares tools that help us face the mess we’re in, as well as find and play our role in the collective transition to a life-sustaining society. Join us to discover more about these tools and how you can put them into practice in your campaigning.

What to expect

During this webinar we will use:

  • Powerpoint
  • Breakout rooms
  • Pen and paper
  • Guided meditation

There will be a break half way through. Please have these items to hand during the training:

  • A bowl of water
  • Colouring pencils or crayons
  • Pen and paper

Session preparation

When you register we will send you a link in the order confirmation email to a handout that gives you a brief description of Active Hope. The handout will include two exercises that we invite you to complete in advance. One is a short writing exercise and the other is a video. We think you may find these exercises useful to start thinking about the work ahead of the session. We will not being taking them in or asking you to report back. We hope you find the time to try these exercises out but if not you will still be able to participate.

Accessibility

During this webinar we will be using Powerpoint alongside Zoom, including breakout rooms, as well as pen and paper exercises.

In addition we have the follow processes in place to support accessibility

  • Closed Captions on zoom
  • If you require a palantypist or a BSL interpreter please contact community@foe.co.uk two weeks before the training and we will aim to book an expert this service. If there are no available palantypists or BSL interpreters we will work with you to do whatever we can to support your engagement in the training.
  • All PowerPoint presentations have ALT text for images and pictures
  • PowerPoints and handouts will be emailed prior to training for use with screen readers
