A successful Poster Drive and a new planned Trip

Hello everyone,

After a busy exam season, this is what our Climate Club have been getting up to recently!

We’ve managed to finalise our poster drive! With the use of school resources (including a WACOM art board), we have several completed designs to raise awareness for our group’s activities:

  • Firstly, we created a series of mascots together to appeal to our younger years, representing the climates across the world, such as the oceans, forests and artic.
  • Then we came up with some ideas for how the posters would look, and came up with two design variants. 1) Advertisement, what we offer and how to get involved, 2) A showcase of art pieces our members have created each month, based on a climate-related theme. This will hopefully give them the opportunity to express themselves through something they care about, and also allow them to world to be shown around the whole school. The drive will attract more (especially younger) members to keep the club going once us older students leave.
  • We’re also thinking about going on a small trip to the Lake District, where we can get a first-hand look at what this beautiful part of the country (as Britain’s largest national park) has to offer!
  • Finally, it’s that time of the year where we get to enjoy all the snowdrops dotted around the area- it’s been lovely seeing nature recover after last year’s harsh Winter!

Overall, it’s been a hectic number of weeks, but things are still running smoothly.
See you next week,

Mia

Hi @Mia - This is great! Do you have some images to share with others - maybe what the mascots look like and some of your posters too? If you could post it in The Showcase Gallery that would be amazing! :grinning:
